Crime and Punishment Open Essay/Free Response AP Questions


A reader often discovers that the first chapter of a novel introduces some of the major themes of the literary work. Describe how the opening scene of this novel functions in this way. Write an essay about the first chapter of this novel and explain how it functions in this way.
